This is Point Reyes Shipwreck in the city of Inverness in California, it’s a historical landmark.
Some say it was a cargo ship and others say it was a fishing ship. Either way it is a nice place to stop by and have a picnic. The ship is located behind the Inverness market that offers fresh made to order sandwiches. There are a couple of tables by the parking lot where you can sit and have your food and take in the scenery. When the tide is low you can walk around the ship and walk pretty far into the water. It can be a quick stop as you drive up to Point Reyes or on your way back . Our kids liked thinking of all the different scenarios of how the ship got there and of course splashing in the water.
