About Me
Hi there! My name is Berny Garcia and I am a mother of two beautiful sweet boys. One with a rare deletion (3p26), ADHD and other diagnosis. I have been an advocate for my sweet boy since 2013. My journey has not been easy. Navigating the school system for services and understanding the IEP process was a challenge and overwhelming. Because of my experience I want to be able to help other families have a better understanding of their child’s IEP, improve communication with your IEP team, inspire, motivate and share tips.
Parenting a child with special needs is not easy, it is overwhelming and sometimes we want to just break down and cry our eyes out because sometimes it feels like there is nothing else, we can do. I know. I have been there. There have been many days where I feel like all I am doing is putting out fires. Parents, it is ok to not be ok! I know what it is like, no matter how challenging times may feel your child is amazing and so are you.
Advocating for our kiddos is not an easy job, but if we do not do it then who will? You know your child best and know what they need. The IEP process and the special education journey is not an easy one knowing firsthand the challenges, I am here to help you out. You don’t have to do it alone.
When I’m not working with clients, I am enjoying time with family and friends. I know the importance of having a great support system, this is one of the many reasons why I became a Master IEP Coach®. Having someone that gets you, supports you, helps you and doesn’t judge you!
Traveling and building memories with my family is what we do when we are able to, yes sometimes it’s a challenge and other times things go smooth sailing. I’d like to think that my kids have grown to love the exploring and traveling we do. Seeing them have fun and enjoy themselves is priceless.
